A Special Celebration

This week marked a special milestone as we celebrated baby E's first birthday! Looking around the room, hearts swelled with gratitude and awe. It was a gathering filled with love and support for Jess and E, a testament to the journey they've traveled together.

Reflecting on their journey, it all began in December 2022 when Jess, a single mother, sought help from our adoption agency. She walked into the restaurant with a mix of nerves and determination, bravely sharing her story of struggle—abuse, neglect, addiction, and abandonment. At 19 weeks pregnant with her fifth child (E), she longed to break free from her past and create a better future for herself and her unborn child. Moved by Jess's determination, our adoption specialists embraced Jess's plea for support. 

With tears in her eyes, she pleaded for help, acknowledging her mistakes and her desperate desire to get sober. That day marked the beginning of her journey towards hope and healing. Jess embraced every opportunity for growth, from completing rehab to moving into one of our Desired Haven homes where she received parenting and life skills training. Along the way, she found unwavering support from a dedicated advocate who stood by her side through it all.

Today, Jess stands strong as a testament to resilience and strength. She's sober and lovingly parenting her precious little boy. Is it easy? I'm sure she'd say it's not always smooth sailing, but with God and an army of believers behind her, she faces each challenge with courage and grace.
