Hope For The Journey

The 2nd annual Hope for the Journey Conference hosted by the Connected team served over 100 attendees in 4 locations.

Among the attendees were foster and adoptive families, area educators and representatives from DHS, CASA, Living Well counselors, Desired Haven and Connected staff.

Attendees received 7.5 - 8.5 CEU credit hours and a well-rounded presentation of what trauma-informed care is through a Biblical lens.

The Markham and Fayetteville locations partnered with Project Zero to display the heart gallery and I am aware of at least one inquiry for a waiting child as a result.

Each of the locations were graciously hosted and/or cared for by numerous partner churches by providing facilities, food, childcare and volunteers.

Testimonials include:

After attending the conference, a foster mom from Area 1 has decided to quit her job to solely dedicate her time to her current placement of siblings in her home. Her reason..."these kids need us."

Another Area 1 family was greatly impacted by the attachment module and shared with their Coach how helpful it has been for them to begin to look past behavior, see the needs behind it and recognize different attachment and comforting styles to better ensure connection and care for the children in their home.

Attendees also shared how practical the material was for immediately applying it in their day-to-day care for their children.

Thank you to our generous church and community partners for hosting and providing food across all four locations!
