SIBLING FOSTER HOMES

Realizing the critical need for specialized foster homes of large sibling groups, we saw a unique opportunity to utilize our two campuses in a greater capacity. With a desire to provide children with a more home like environment and a burden for the many siblings separated when placed in foster care, we began to make the transition on our campuses in 2019 to prioritize homes for large sibling groups. Each of our campuses were fully transitioned this year, with four homes on each campus providing care for sibling groups. Allowing children to maintain family connections provides them a sense of safety and belonging, making their transition into foster much more successful.

In addition to the sibling foster homes on our campuses, we have also partnered with local Baptist associations to reopen our emergency receiving shelters as sibling foster homes. The West Fork Home and Judsonia Home are now operating as sibling foster homes. The significance of this work is summed up by a sibling in a sibling group of 7 children that we recently brought together after having been separated, “I love having my siblings together, they mean the world to me.”
